Ecological olive production is a feasible first step towards a long term solution for the shortcomings of current olive production, in the Mediterranean area. Therefore a pilot research project is being laid out, aimed at the design, development and evaluation of ecological olive production, in co-operation with a pilot group of ecological farmers. The scheme and the stages of the innovative pilot project are presented.
